This training provides a broad introduction for installers for whom IP is still new or who encounter issues with standard installations. Participants will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience through demonstrations of network equipment setup. Bringing your own laptop or tablet is recommended.

  • Standard network equipment and the layer principle
  • Types of cabling
  • MAC addresses and switches
  • IP addresses and routers
  • Transport protocols and ports / port forwarding
  • What is DHCP, DNS, and how to configure switch logic correctly?
  • Units (bit/byte/megabyte, etc.)
  • How does PoE work?
  • General network security concepts
  • Command line tools
  • Demonstration of the theory, e.g., correctly setting a camera’s IP address so it can be viewed on a PC

Participants will gain not only theoretical knowledge but also practical experience through demonstrations of network equipment configuration.

Purpose

After completing the training, participants will have basic knowledge of networks, IP configuration, and network security, and will be able to resolve simple network issues independently.

Terms and conditions for participation

No specific prior knowledge is required. Basic knowledge of computer hardware is an advantage.
