Tech tip: Installing REDSCAN Lite

Published on: 27-03-2026

The REDSCAN Lite RLS-1010L is designed to provide accurate indoor detection, but achieving the best results starts with correct installation.

Like other REDSCAN sensors, the REDSCAN Lite requires OPTEX-certified training. This guide outlines the key steps that trained installers can follow to ensure stable operation from day one.

Installation planning
Before mounting the sensor, assess the indoor environment. Pay attention to reflective floors, glass surfaces, metal panels, or hanging objects that may distort the scan. Identify HVAC vents or moving objects that could cause unwanted motion. Check that power and network points are available and set up a PC on the same network to access the configuration interface.

Installers should have the proper alignment tool for the job, either the LAC-1 or the RLS-LAT.
