Bluetooth Low Energy readers from Vanderbilt

Published on: 25-11-2019

Vanderbilt has launched a new series of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) readers. These can be used with the ACT Enterprise 2.10 access control software.

In the era of the smartphone, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is transforming the future of access control. BLE technology removes the need for a physical card or tag and replaces it with a secure Bluetooth credential that communicates with the reader to authorize or reject access. Users receive a personal license through the Vanderbilt app.

The mobile login data is secured and protected with the same data encryption used by banks and hospitals. BLE readers can also act as a traditional card reader, which means that Mifare and Desfire EV1 and EV2 cards can also be used for access. All readers are available with a Wiegand or OSDP connection. Licenses for users can be purchased, there are no monthly or yearly recurring subscription costs. Users therefore have no hidden or annual extra costs.

Vanderbilt BLE readers have a unique user experience with four identification modes for easy management: "Shake to Go", "Show to Go", "Manual Button Mode" and "Hands Free Mode". The readers are IP65 waterproof and can be controlled with the registration software in ACT Enterprise. The BLE series also includes an RTE push button, designed in the same style as the readers. The app for end users is available for free in Android ™ and iOS ™. The BLE readers and accessories only function with the new release of ACT Enterprise 2.10.
