Axis Communications recently launched new dome cameras in the P32 series. In total, there are 12 new models for both indoor and outdoor applications. These versatile models are equipped with the powerful ARTPEC-9 System-on-Chip (SoC) and are the first in the security industry to support the AV1 codec.

Thanks to ARTPEC-9, the various models deliver improved AI analytics that take place in real time on the camera itself (on the edge). This allows objects and people to be detected and classified more quickly, even in low-light situations.

The new P32 cameras offer excellent image quality up to 8 MP. Thanks to Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR, the cameras deliver clear color reproduction in all lighting conditions. The cameras are also equipped with OptimizedIR for night vision without additional lighting.

The implementation of the new AV1 codec, combined with Axis Zipstream technology, drastically reduces storage and bandwidth requirements without compromising forensic image quality. This new AV1 codec will also be supported by Milestone and Genetec.

Several of these new models are equipped with an acoustic sensor with AXIS Audio Analytics pre-installed. Users are then alerted when something relevant happens, even if there is no visual indication. This makes it possible to detect shouting, yelling, and changes in noise levels.
