Peppol Guidelines at SmartSD
SmartSD is adjusting its invoicing processes in line with current and upcoming legislation in Belgium. Therefore, SmartSD has implemented the Peppol network. From January 2026, our Belgian invoicing will be conducted via Peppol.
What does this mean for our Belgian customers?
Are you already registered on Peppol as a customer? In that case, no action is required from your side. We will automatically retrieve your Peppol ID. However, we recommend that you verify whether your Peppol ID is correctly and fully registered in our system. If this is not yet the case, please share it with us to ensure the proper processing of your invoices.
What is Peppol?
From 1 January 2026, all Belgian VAT-registered companies, regardless of size or sector, will be required to use structured electronic invoices for their B2B transactions. In practice, this means that invoicing between companies must take place via the Peppol network.
Peppol (Pan-European Public Procurement On-Line) is a secure European network for exchanging electronic invoices.
Invoices sent via Peppol comply with European and national e-invoicing standards. For our customers, this means faster and more reliable processing and a fully digital workflow.
Customers outside Belgium;
Customers in other countries can continue using their current invoicing method and do not need to take any action.
SmartSD uses Peppol exclusively for invoicing in Belgium.
